Context and Environment

• Operate in a multifunctional and dynamic environment influenced by safety, economic, tax, labor regulations, and external scrutiny.
• High reporting requirements due to the involvement of Government, Lenders, Partners, Shareholders, and Auditors, requiring adherence to multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Promote internal control and audit functions through quality assurance and consultancy services.
• Engage in risk mapping activities, monitor action plans from audits, and support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and control assessments across MzLNG and TEPMA1.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Audit

• Identify and assess significant risks based on risk mappings, raised concerns, and SOX/audit findings.
• Develop and propose an internal audit plan aligned with entity risks, ensuring stakeholder agreement.
• Implement the audit plan and conduct ad hoc investigations.

Internal Control

• Provide inputs for updating the SOX Risk & Control Matrix and perform SOX testing using internal tools.
• Assist in identifying and mitigating business and financial risks through control monitoring.
• Promote risk management and internal control culture across the organization.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor and consolidate action plans stemming from internal audits, SOX activities, and other external audits (JV, statutory, HSE, security, etc.).
• Prepare quarterly reports for the Internal Control & Audit Committee, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Candidate Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields; certification as a Certified Accountant or Internal Auditor preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years in SOX/internal control, internal/external audit, or risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas operations and regulations.
  • Proficiency in SAP systems.
• Skills:
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Patience, persistence, and ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
• Languages: Fluent in Portuguese and English.
