Job Details:
- Position: IT Operations Assistant
- Contract Type: Fixed-Term, G5
- Duty Station: Maputo, Mozambique
- Duration: 12 months (renewable)
- Deadline for Application: 09th January 2025

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
- Perform system diagnostics, monitoring, and optimizations.
- Maintain IT equipment and ensure compliance with data security standards.
- Install, operate, and maintain telecommunication systems.
Data and Information Management:
- Update and maintain statistical databases and web pages.
- Archive and prepare files for inventory purposes.
Training and User Support:
- Provide standard training on IT systems and tools.
- Respond to user queries and resolve technical issues.
Asset Management:
- Conduct annual asset counts and reconcile data.
- Manage asset disposals and incident reporting.
Administrative Tasks:
- Handle procurement and follow-up on IT-related invoices.
- Create purchase requisitions and manual purchase orders.
Process Improvement:
- Propose enhancements for IT service methods and procedures.
Requirements:
Education:
- Completion of secondary education.
- A post-secondary certificate in a related functional area.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in IT operations or related fields.
Languages:
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and verbal).
Desired Skills:
- Experience in solving complex technical issues.
- Understanding of client service standards and problem escalation.
- Ability to define functional requirements in collaboration with unit heads.
